Wedding Planning: Moms Role and Advice

Bible And Wedding RingsDuring all the hubbub of bride’s often need someone that will provide unconditional support and sage advice. While the maid of honor and bridesmaids have their own responsibilities, there are many times when a bride just needs a mom around. Whether you are the bride’s mother, mother-in-law, or someone close enough to take on the “Mom” role, there are many ways in which you can during the stages to make things go a little more smoothly:

Being There At Any Hour

You were there during all hours of the night when she was a baby, and things are no different when the bride is stressing out about the . Be patient and help provide the bride with as much assistance as possible.

Smoothing Things Over With the Father of the Bride

While many brides have been planning their weddings ever since they were babies, many grooms and fathers have no idea just how much those special items really mean to the bride. To avoid fighting over the wedding planning details, the mother of the bride can smooth over those “extra costs” with the father of the bride.

The Most Patient Participant

Your daughter has probably been sharing her wedding ideas with you for years, and you know how important finding that perfect lace is. Stand by her side even at the one-hundred and tenth store to help make her day perfect.

Corral the Relatives and Be the Perfect Hostess

Family and friends can sometimes be a bid demanding of the bride’s time during the reception. With all the things happening, being the perfect hostess can sometimes be difficult for the bride. As the Mother of the Bride, you can step in and pay attention to family members that try to be a little more demanding of her time and attention.

Be a Brown Paper Bag

Panic can, and often does, ensue when little things start to add up. Like a brown paper bag stops a person from hyperventilating and breaking down, you can offer the bride some fresh breath by calming her down. Let her know that you are the one person who will listen to her rant without judgment.

Relish the Moment Again and Again

With pictures and videos, there is a lot to watch and look at afterward. While many of the friends and family may only be willing to watch the video or look at pictures once or twice, you will most likely be willing to watch that special day over and over again.
