Planning Your Honeymoon: Where to Go and When to Go There
One of the most exciting aspects of wedding planning is actually getting to decide on your honeymoon plans. Looking at all your vacation options can be both fun and overwhelming. Sometimes it helps to look at all the vacation specials, and sometimes you just need to go with your hearts desire. However, when you are planning your honeymoon, you should also look at some other factors based upon where you are going on vacation.
Plan It Together
While tradition dictates that the groom plan the honeymoon, his idea of the ideal vacation spot may be quite different from hers. It helps if the bride and groom do some of the wedding planning together, and the honeymoon is no different. Both of you should make a list of your ideal vacations and try to find a compromise.
The Beach Honeymoon
If you are planning a honeymoon on the beach, there are some things you should consider. Some locations are prone to hurricanes or tropical storms, and they are more common in some seasons than others. Other locations may have a rainy season. While your tickets and accommodations may be less expensive during those seasons, you may also lose out on valuable honeymoon time, too.
The Great Outdoor Honeymoon
Do you love camping? Some brides and grooms not only have outdoor wedding planning in mind, but they want their honeymoon to be in the great outdoors, too. If you are planning to go camping on your honeymoon, make sure you go during appropriate seasons. Rain, snow, or cold can put a damper on your honeymoon plans.
The Ski Honeymoon
Skiing can be a great honeymoon activity. Yet, you will need to plan your honeymoon during appropriate times of the year. Also, check forecasts to see if there will be enough snow to actually ski. A ski-based honeymoon is no fun if the slopes are closed due to lack of snow.
The Cultural Honeymoon
Some couples want to fill their days with culture. If you desire a romantic honeymoon in places of culture and sightseeing, then be sure you are going when there are tours and openings available. For instance, if you are planning your honeymoon near your favorite amusement park, be sure the park will be open and running during your vacation times.
