A Possible Royal Wedding?

Rumors have been flying of late that may soon be “” to his girlfriend of five years, . As Kate was invited to Christmas with the Windsors, she is the first person invited to this event that is not married to any member of the royal family. There are even plans to rebuild Harewood Park House as a possible to the future Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

While royal watchers around the world wait to see if a Christmas engagement will happen, others may be inspired to take the next step toward engagement. If you are feeling inspired, here are some fun marriage proposal ideas:

1. The “first” proposal. Take your significant other to the place where you first met or the place of your first date. It brings up great memories while adding new ones.
2. The holiday ornament proposal. There are all kinds of decorations to use during the holiday season. Whether you use a clear glass ornament with the ring inside or a big dreidel to propose, the holiday season will be full of great cheer.
3. The box trick. This proposal idea has been around for ages, but it is always fun. You start with the ring in a small box and wrap it in a larger box. Then you wrap that box in a larger box and so on. Then the proposal happens when he or she gets to the ring in the center.
4. Give me a clue. Scavenger hunts, puzzles, and games can be a great way to propose. You just need to plan out your clues so by the time your future fiancé gets to the end all that’s left is to get on one knee.
5. The movie ad proposal. You know those ads that play before the movie? They are a great place to post your marriage proposal. Discuss purchasing an ad before a movie your and your future fiancé want to see.
6. Eat your words. The key here is to eat the words, not the ring. Many grooms have the ring cooked in food or placed in champagne, but it poses a choking or broken tooth hazard. Instead have the ring placed on a special plate or have the chef write out the words on the plate. Just make sure you arrange it ahead of time with the restaurant.
7. Picnic in the park. Put together a fancy picnic basket full of all your favorite picnic foods and head out to the park. A proposal makes for a romantic picnic.
8. Write it out. Skywriting is still a popular way to propose, but so is renting a billboard or using the big screen at your favorite sporting event.

Be creative in how you propose. Try to make it meaningful for both of you. Remember, it doesn’t have to be a royal proposal to be beautiful, but it should be beautiful.
